Our greatest pleasure is hearing directly from our listeners:
Father of premature baby: "Your music is what calms my baby down the most."
Family member of ICU patient: "This is the best thing that's happened to my husband in a long time."
Family member of patient: "I was at the memorial service yesterday for my sister's mother-in-law. At the reception we viewed a wonderful slide presentation of her life in pictures, and, near the very end, photos of her (still smiling) in what turned out to be her death bed. Well, there you were, with your harp, and with P, and I instantly recalled your work in hospitals. My brother-in-law told me how much your visit meant to her, that P was in a great deal of pain, and that your visit, and her touching your harp, brought her away from her discomfort. I felt so much joy and appreciation yesterday in celebrating her long life, and in knowing people like you, who bring the same joy and appreciation to this world."
Following a hospice visit: "Our dear friend Bob passed away this evening. I want to thank you again and again for that beautiful gift of your music for him. Everyone of us who was there felt then and continue to feel now - that it was magical."
Family member of patient: "I will never forget the beautiful feeling I had when you played for mom and how relaxed she looked. Thanks so much and much luck to you all."
Friend of patient: "I have been spending a lot of time lately at the hospital as a dear friend has been in critical condition for the past 3 weeks. The beautiful harp music of Diana Rowan this afternoon turned my whole day around. What a wonderful idea. What lovely kindness she offered to all within earshot. As I have grown older I have come to believe that life is really made up of the seemingly small things...it is made up of seconds and inches. Thanks so much to Diana and to your fine organization for adding some beautiful notes to my "seconds" today."
"Your music relieves my pain." "You have turned my whole day around."
"This makes my heart feel good." "Even if I weren't sick I would come to hear you all day long. This is pure heaven." "I think about you often and listen to the CD you gave me all of the time. I will drop you a line now and then to remind you of how much pleasure you have given me." "Wonderful music on what was a very trying day for me. Thank you for making my day bright."
"I would come on my day off to hear the harp." "After being in cardio and feeling toxic most of the time, hearing your music is like being bathed in an energy shower." "I notice the patient call buttons go off far less when you're here." "We need you here every day."
"When I hear the harp, no matter how many hard things I've seen that day, it makes me feel like everything is going to be OK." "We NEED this! Who do I talk to?"
"This is so beautiful, my patient sent me to thank you!"
"You make my work easier." "Thank you so much for the days that you we had you bringing harmony to all of us - it was a great honour for us all, and we hope we have you in our clinic again soon!"
"The experience of the concert caused one of the seniors to reminisce about her friend of 62 years that passed away two months prior. “I know she is here right now in spirit. She loved music and she played the harp. I miss her with all of my heart but all I feel right now is joy." Hospital Chaplain: "This is very therapeutic. There's nothing like live music."
